A Note About Political Campaigns
We regret that we will not have information tables or parade
entries for candidates running for office. This has been
our practice and policy for the last 10 years. We have
thoughtfully chosen not allow political
campaign participation for the following reasons:
- our fiscal agent is most concerned about potentially
losing their 501 c3 status
- permitting one candidate for an office means that we
then need to provide for all candidates out of a sense and
need for fairness
- we're a small event and that would
overwhelm the purpose of our event
All candidates for locally elected offices
have historically respected our needs. Many of the committee
members have been active politically for a variety of causes,
but have respected the character of our event and the need to
respond to our fiscal agent's concerns.
What we offer our community is unique – we would hate to have this jeopardized.
